Treasure hunt to support NLCF runs through Sept. 9

NORTH LIBERTY– A treasure hunt, with a grand prize of four tickets to the Sept. 23 Iowa Hawkeyes’ football game versus Penn State (complete with parking pass and tailgate), is set to help raise funds and awareness of the North Liberty Community Fund (NLCF).
Entry fees for the Grow Our Community Treasure Hunt are $25. Participants will visit local businesses to collect stamps on a Community Fund card, from Aug. 1 to Sept. 9. Entering is simple, and you can pick up your entry form and map at Great Western Bank in North Liberty beginning Aug. 1.
You must visit 14 North Liberty businesses to get Treasure Hunt stickers, then return completed treasure hunt forms to Great Western Bank by Sept. 9. The winner will be drawn on Monday, Sept. 11, and announced Tuesday, Sept. 12.
Participating North Liberty businesses include Café Muse, CarePro Pharmacy, Geek City Comics, Heyns Ice Cream, Jewelry by Harold, Leash on Life, Ledi Family Restaurant, Mirabito’s, Rage Grafix, Subway, Sugar Bottom Bikes, True Value, Vito’s on 965 and We Run.
NLCF was established in 2007, as an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Johnson County, to help support the unmet needs of local organizations and to maintain a safe, vital, healthy quality of life for the community. Funds from the NLCF are distributed in the form of grants; up to 5 percent of the endowment fund can be granted to support local needs annually. NLCF supports local community causes, including the Veterans Dinner at the North Liberty American Legion Auxiliary, the North Liberty Community Pantry, and the North Liberty Family Resource Center.
