Taylor Ryan and Kayla West named First Team WaMaC

Six Lady Spartans earn All-Conference softball honors

SOLON– Senior outfielder Taylor Ryan and junior pitcher Kayla West received First Team all-conference honors for Solon’s varsity softball program.
The WaMaC Conference issued its East Division All-Conference Softball Teams Tuesday, July 16, with a total of six Lady Spartans listed.
Senior catcher Skyler Stookey and incoming ninth grader Hilary Wilson were named to the Second Team.
Senior Taylor Moore and sophomore Monet Barnhouse received Honorable Mention.
Ryan led the team with 58 hits on the year, including two doubles and two triples while batting .382. West was 15-6 in 25 appearances on the mound for the Lady Spartans, with an earned run average of 0.14. She struck out 177 batters while walking 39. Opposing teams hit just .183 against her.
Stookey was the team leader in home runs (14) and RBI (43). She had 51 hits, including 15 doubles, while batting .392. Wilson had 57 hits, including 21 doubles, two triples and five home runs, with 38 RBI and a .410 batting average.
