A split for ICCSD school board

Two incumbents stay with two newcomers

IOWA CITY– Incumbents Paul Roesler and Shawn Eyestone retained seats on the Iowa City Community School District’s school board in the Tuesday, Nov. 5, city and school elections. Four seats were up for seven candidates on the ballot.
Roesler netted 70 percent of the votes, 5,548, while Eyestone garnered 60 percent, 4,762. Newcomer Lisa C. Williams was the big winner with 5,869 votes, or 74 percent. Newcomer Charlie Eastham captured 4,959 votes, or 62 percent, for a seat.
Michael Tilley, Stephanie Van Housen and Julie VanDyke netted 53 percent, 41 percent, and 38 percent respectively. There were 157 write-in votes.
