Solon man injured in motorcycle accident

MARION– A Solon resident sustained serious injuries when he lost control of his motorcycle July 31 at an intersection on the eastern edge of Marion.
According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, emergency services responded to a personal injury accident near the intersection of Highway 100 and Highway 13 at approximately 10:29 p.m.
An eastbound motorcycle driven by Mark Meyer, 46, of Solon, was traveling east on Highway 100 near Hwy 13 when the Meyer lost control and went down on the pavement, according to a press release. Meyer was transported to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics by LifeGuard Air Ambulance for what appeared to be life-threatening injuries.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Linn County Rescue, Iowa State Patrol, Marion Police Department, Marion Fire, Area Ambulance, and LifeGuard Air Ambulance responded to the incident.
The accident remains under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
