GOOSELAKE— The Northeast Gooselake’s Rebels remained unbeaten with a 9-0 record at the expense of the Liberty High Lightning Monday, Dec. 18, in Gooselake. The Rebels ran over the Bolts, 78-41, handing Liberty High their fourth loss of the first varsity season.The Lightning trailed throughout as four Rebels scored in double-digits, led by Dawson Stoll’s 26 points in the game. Northeast led, 21-8, at the end of the first period and held a comfortable 44-21 lead at halftime. The Rebels enjoyed a 57-31 lead going into the final quarter.
Andre Brandon led the Lightning with a team-high ten points, Sam Funke produced nine, Grayson Tyler had seven and Iziah Poulsen added five points. Ethan O’Donnell had a four-point night, while Bo Gryp, Moses Bolar and Ben Houselog contributed three points each.
The loss dropped the Bolts to 3-4 ahead of the Tuesday, Dec. 19, home contest against Fort Madison.Liberty travels to Fairfield on Tuesday, Jan. 2, and hosts Clear Creek Amana in a boy/girl doubleheader on Saturday, Jan. 6.
