Not the chow line they were used to

TIFFIN– Just as they had done countless times years ago, soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines “fell in” for the chow line. This time however, instead of grumpy mess sergeants and privates on KP duty, they were greeted by smiling middle school student council members who happily filled their red, white and blue decorated plates with pastries, breakfast pizza and even biscuits and gravy.
The event was the annual Veterans Breakfast at the Clear Creek Amana Middle School (CCAMS) in Tiffin, a tradition for the last 10 years. On Tuesday, Nov. 12, local vets and those with students in the school filled the commons area for the informal gathering with music provided by CCAMS band students.
“It's always one of the best things we do at CCAMS,” said Principal Brad Fox. “It's just a simple way for us to honor the Veterans and active duty members for their service. We are honored to provide this for them and the staff members we have who either have been, or are in the military.”
