Jack O’ Lanterns take center stage at the Ranshaw House

North Liberty’s second community pumpkin display garners 42 entries
The second annual Pumpkins at the Ranshaw House event brought 42 carved pumpkins to the corner of West Penn Street and Community Drive Friday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 31.

NORTH LIBERTY– Linus surely would’ve approved.
Charles M. Schulz’s “Peanuts” character famously sat in a pumpkin patch on Halloween awaiting “The Great Pumpkin.” For two nights in North Liberty, Linus would’ve had the historic Ranshaw House as a majestic background while awaiting his Santa Claus-like supernatural being.
Forty-two carved and lit pumpkins sat on planks at the corner of West Penn Street and Community Drive on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30 and 31, for the second annual community pumpkin display. Last year, 50 pumpkins ringed the front porch of the Ranshaw House, which is currently undergoing Phase 2 of an extensive restoration and renovation project.
