Groovin’ on a Saturday afternoon

Porchfest fills NL’s Arlington Ridge neighborhood with music
Yards and the street in front of 310 Whitman Ave. fill with an audience as Kevin “BF” Burt (not pictured) entertains the crowd on the Junge Ford Special Feature Stage Saturday, July 10, during the North Liberty Porchfest. The annual event, held in the Arlington Ridge neighborhood, showcased dozens of performers.

NORTH LIBERTY– For the fourth year, the Arlington Ridge neighborhood of North Liberty was filled with music as porches and driveways became stages, and yards and sidewalks filled with audiences for Porchfest.
Thirty-one acts performed on seven stages along Whitman Avenue and Canterbury Street with local favorite Kevin “BF” Burt headlining the event. Burt performed on the Junge Ford Special Feature Stage, at 310 Whitman Ave. Burt, a 2019 The Blues Foundation Blues Music Award Nominee and 2018 International Blues Challenge three-category winner, also was a featured performer last month at North Liberty’s Blues & BBQ.
The free event also featured a parade of classic and new cars sponsored by Junge Ford & BMW, food trucks, a bags tournament, and kids’ activities throughout the neighborhood, located on the east side of Penn Meadows Park.
