Crystal K. Slach

Crystal Kay Slach, 55, of rural West Branch, went to be with her Lord on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018. Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 20, at Hope Church in Tipton. Burial followed in West Branch City Cemetery, in West Branch. A general memorial fund was established in her memory. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com.
Crystal was born on Dec. 29, 1962, in Muscatine, the daughter of Richard Leroy and Jene Candace Slach. Crystal graduated from Solon High School, in 1981, and attended Kirkwood Community College. Crystal worked throughout her life in the service industry at various hotels, restaurants and other businesses.
Crystal enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was a lifelong cat lover and had too many to list their names. She cherished her nieces; Jade, Navella, Jocelyn, Olivia and Winter and nephews Ben and Ethan. She called Hope Church of Tipton her home and faithfully attended when her health permitted.
Crystal is survived by her father, Richard “Dick” Slach of West Branch and her mother, Candace “Candy” (Dan) Cookes of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; sisters, Stacy (Tim) Jones of West Branch, Nicole (Mario) Sanchez of Port Orange, Fla., Tawna (John) King of St. Louis, Mo.; brother, Steve (Jodie) Slach of Bettendorf. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
