Creek Boys’ season ends in Fairfield

Mount Pleasant capsizes CCA, 8-3, in District 10 baseball

FAIRFIELD– The Clear Creek Amana (CCA) varsity baseball season came to an end Friday, July 19, in Fairfield, as the Clippers fell, 8-3, to the Mount Pleasant Panthers in a Class 3A Substate 5 District 10 quarterfinal game.
Three scoreless innings preceded the Creek Boys plating two runners in the top of the fourth for a 2-0 lead. Unfortunately, the Panthers scored eight runs in the bottom of the fifth; leading to a hole the Clippers couldn’t dig themselves out from. One CCA run scored in the sixth but a scoreless seventh inning sealed their doom.
Casey Ogden led the Clippers at the dish with three hits. Parker Smith smacked a double in the contest. Camden Smyka was charged with the loss after 4-1/3 innings on the mound. He gave up five hits and seven earned runs while walking four and striking out seven.
