COVID-19 quarantine care kits

IOWA CITY– Four United Methodist Churches (UMC) in the Iowa City Metro area are creating and distributing COVID-19 quarantine care kits. These simple kits are designed to provide comfort and encouragement. Each care kit includes a request form, which aids in responding to specific needs within a household, if possible.
Reverend Beth Graham from First UMC in North Liberty stated, “We are praying with our neighbors, and our faith moves us to action.”
Reverend Sarah Rohret from St. Mark’s UMC added, “We are interested because we love our neighbors, and we want to always show them we care.”
Those with items they wish to contribute may drop them off at First UMC in North Liberty, located at 85 N. Jones Blvd. For additional information, call 319-626-2762 or email nlmadmin@southslope.net.
Items must be new and may include but not be limited to: books, puzzles for all ages, DVDs, lotion, tissues and hand sanitizer. The four churches collecting items are Coralville UMC, First UMC– Iowa City, First UMC– North Liberty and St. Mark’s UMC.
Reverend Doctor Barrie Tritle from First UMC in Iowa City stated, “Our faith leads us to make love real for people so that they may have hope during these difficult times.”
