Bur Oak Land Trust Family Day Sunday, May 21

SOLON– Family Day with Bur Oak Land Trust will be hosted on Sunday, May 21, at the Turkey Creek Preserve. Admission is free and refreshments will be offered. There will also be seining in the creek and scavenger hunt with prizes.
Bur Oak Land Trust presents Family Day at Turkey Creek Preserve from 1-3 p.m. at 2545 Sugar Bottom Rd. NE in Solon.
Turkey Creek Preserve is 107.24 acres of woods and former pasture land, including five acres of reconstructed prairie which also has geocache locations.
This spring, Bur Oak Land Trust, a non-profit land conservation organization based in Iowa City, is pleased to hold another Family Day. Enjoy outdoor activities for kids of all ages, including activities with University of Iowa wildlife camps instructors and Taproot. Activities include raptors, seining Turkey Creek for critters, and birding. Experience the sights and sounds of creek life, learn about different trees and prairie plants, and find answers to all of your outdoor questions. Snacks and beverages will be provided. Admission is free.
