NORTH LIBERTY– The end of summer is marked with many events: the start of school, football season firing up and the closing of outdoor swimming pools. While the outdoor pool at the North Liberty Recreation Center officially closed for the season on Labor Day, dozens upon dozens of “fur kids” got in one last swim before the pool is drained until next summer.
The recreation center hosted its ninth annual Doggie Plunge on Sunday, Sept. 9, which was an opportunity for canines to swim and frolic about.

CCA Board Members obtain a new tool for greater efficiency

OXFORD– School board members have a plethora of documents to keep track of: everything from meeting agendas to “board packets” for those meetings, to the district’s library of policies and procedures. The Clear Creek Amana (CCA) Community School District, like many districts and businesses, utilized Google Docs for several years as a repository and means of distributing board documents while posting the policies on the district’s website. Thanks to a new tool, the board has a one-stop-shop on their Chromebook tablets to access it all.
